Domain records

DNS record lookup

Enter a domain to see its public DNS records: where it points (A/AAAA), how its email is routed (MX), its nameservers (NS), text records (TXT, including SPF), and which authorities may issue its certificates (CAA).

How this works
  • We only ask public DNS resolvers about the domain's records. We never connect to the website or its server.

Frequently asked questions

What is a DNS record?

DNS is the internet's address book. Each record type does a job: A and AAAA point a name to an IPv4/IPv6 address, MX routes its email, NS lists its nameservers, TXT holds notes (including SPF and verification tokens), CAA limits who can issue its TLS certificates, and SOA describes the zone itself.

Does this connect to the website?

No. We only ask public DNS resolvers about the domain's records - we never open a connection to the site or its server, so looking up a record is completely passive and safe.

Why do some records not show up?

A domain only has the records it needs - a parked domain may have no MX (email) records, and many have no CAA. An empty section simply means that type isn't published, not that something is wrong.
